A former field boundary of potential medieval date is visible as an earthwork ditch and bank on aerial photographs of 2000, to the south of Hayes Barton. The former boundary is slightly curvilinear in form and broadly northeast to southwest aligned. It comprises a single earthwork ditch which is partially flanked along its western edge by an earthwork bank. The boundary may form part of a medieval field system which passed out of use by the time of the parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48. The earthworks are located within a coombe and, as such, were not clearly visible on other aerial photographs or digital images made available to the survey.
