An extraction pit of probable post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards and on digital images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2012, to the east of Higher Veiges Plantation. The clay or gravel extraction pit is sub-oval in shape, measures approximately 47.5m in length by 27m in width and is located within an area dominated by similar such features. The former extraction remains visible as an earthwork pit on recent digital images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2012.
