Linhay at Brimpts, thought to be mid-late 19th century. Freestanding on the north-eastern side of the farmstead, this structure was roofless at the time of the 1993 survey. Renovated and re-roofed sometime between 1993 and 2006.

Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Late 19th century map depicts this structure on the north-eastern side of the farm.

Early 20th century historic map shows building unchanged.


Dartmoor National Park Authority, 1993 - 1997, Dartmoor National Park Authority Farmstead Survey 1993-1997, January 1993 (Report - Survey). SDV344544.

Survey depicts linhay and describes construction. Thought to date from the mid-later 19th century. Single storied; now roofless. Freestanding. Front wall of granite posts, appears to have been divided into two by stone crosswall. No end walls (may have been formerly open or boarded?) Rear wall granite rubblestone, front granite posts.
