Field called 'The Big Turnpike Meadow' on 1839 Tithe Apportionment and 1840 Tithe Map (plot 1221), refers to a field that was divided by the 19th-century road replacement (New Barnstaple Road), for the Old Barnstaple Road. The 'Two Pots Turnpike' is marked on the 1840 Tithe Map at the junction between the Old and New Barnstaple Roads, at the south-west corner of plot 1221.
