Field called 'Quarry Close' on 1839 Tithe Apportionment and 1840 Tithe Map (plot 1378); 1904 Ordnance Survey map shows an 'Old Quarry' in the north east corner at SS 5413 4592, whilst a 1999 Aerial Photograph shows irregularities further to the south at SS 5411 4584. The area to the north of the current northern boundary and track, was part of this field.
