Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards at the former farmstead of Brixington Farm. The site of the orchard is located within a single L-Shaped field on gently southwest sloping ground on the southeast side of the former farmstead. The site is first symbolised as an orchard on the Withycombe Raleigh parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48. Aerial photographs of 1946 show that that the orchard trees have been completely grubbed out, although a series of parallel north to south and east to west aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, remain visible. These earthwork banks are clearly visible on aerial photographs up until 1950, although by 1969 have been completely levelled and the site developed for residential housing.
