Possible drainage ditches or former field boundaries of uncertain date are visible as two linear earthwork ditches on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards and on digital images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2012, to the north of Liverton Business Park. The two parallel north to south aligned earthworks are situated on ground that slopes gently down towards Withycombe Brook. At their northern extent, the two earthwork ditches appear to truncate an east to west aligned earthwork bank which has been recorded here as part of this survey as a former field boundary of potential medieval date. The function and date of the earthwork ditches remain unclear, although perhaps most likely represent drainage ditches of possible post-medieval to modern date. They have been recorded here as part of this survey due to their relationship with the potential medieval field boundary which has been recorded to the north.
