Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards and on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2010, to the north of St. Margaret and St. Andrew’s Church, Littleham. The site of the orchard is first symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. Aerial photographs of 1946 show that that the orchard trees have been largely grubbed out, although a series of parallel northeast to southwest aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, remain visible. These banks occupy two adjacent plots of land of approximately 1.45 hectares and are situated on gently east facing slope. The orchard banks are slightly more extensive than has been transcribed here as part of this survey owing to a coverage of vegetation, although the extent of these features have been mapped within the monument polygon. They remain partly visible as a series of slight earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 2000.
