Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The former extraction pit appears to be symbolised as a pond on the Littleham parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48.

An extraction pit of probable post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1950 onwards, to the northwest of Castle Cottages, Littleham. The former extraction pit is first symbolised as a possible pond on the Littleham parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48. It is sub-oval in shape, measures approximately 25m in length by 13.5m in width and is located within an area dominated by similar such earthwork features. The former extraction pit remains visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1988, although appears to have been completely levelled by 1996.
