Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1969, to the west of Woodlands Farm. The site of the orchard is first symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. It occupies a small irregular shaped plot of approximately 0.18 hectares of fairly level land at the confluence of two converging streams. Aerial photographs of 1946 show that the orchard trees remain largely intact, although by 1969 these have been completely grubbed out, leaving a series of parallel northeast to southwest aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. The orchard banks appear to have been completely levelled on aerial photographs of 1988.
