A probable extraction pit of post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit and banked feature on aerial photographs of 1950 onwards and on digital images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2012, to the north of Woodlands Farm. The former extraction pit is visible as a sub-oval shaped earthwork pit which measures approximately 40m in length by 33m in width. An oval shaped earthwork mound, likely derived from the infilling of the extraction pit and measuring approximately 18m in length by 12m in width, is visible within the centre of the feature. The former extraction pit is located within an area dominated by similar such earthwork features and remains visible as a pit and banked feature on digital images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2012.
