Summary

An earthwork pit is visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards and in images derived from Lidar data captured in 2006. It is tentatively interpreted as an extraction pit that became disused prior to the late nineteenth century.

A possible quarry is visible as an elliptical earthwork pit, circa 18 metres in maximum width, on images derived from Lidar data captured in 2006, and as a slightly darker cropmark on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards. No features are depicted in this location on the available historic mapping, so any quarry here would probably have passed out of use before the late nineteenth century.
