Two linear banks, up to 5.5 metres in width and 40 metres apart, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken from 1963 and on images derived from Lidar data captured between 1998 and 2007. Nothing is depicted in this location on the late nineteenth century mapping, and the earthworks are tentatively interpreted as the remains of a medieval or post-medieval field boundary bank that passed out of use prior to the mid nineteenth century. The width of the banks suggests that they have been substantially spread and therefore fairly low in height, perhaps accounting for their limited visibility on the available images; they are only visible on aerial photographs taken in low light when snow was lying on the ground in 1963 and from Lidar.
