Rectangular brass plaque mounted onto a wooden backboard with oak leaf border, and the school crest at the top centre of the plaque.
Inscription: KING EDWARD VI SCHOOL,/ TOTNES/ IN GRATEFUL REMEMBRANCE OF THE/ OLD BOYS & MASTERS WHO SERVED IN THE/ GREAT WAR, 1914 - 1919/ PRO PATRIA MORI/ (NAMES)/ "THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE."/ (NAMES)/ VIVAT FLOREAT TOTNES/ SUBSCRIBED AND ERECTED BY OLD BOYS/ AND FRIENDS NOV. 1919/ COMMITTEE/ (NAMES)
The plaque was moved from the grammar school site on Fore Street circa 1966 when the school amalgamated with others to form a comprehensive school on the present site off Ashburton Road, and is now located in the library.
