Large brass plaque with Inscription: ERECTED BY THE INHABITANTS OF HOLBETON/ IN MEMORY OF THOSE FROM THIS PARISH/WHO FELL IN ACTION OR DIED FROM WOUNDS AND/SICKNESS IN THE SOUTH AFRICAN WAR/1899 - 1902. This is followed by the five names and regiments of the casualties.
There is also a separate one to one of the casualties erected by his comrades.
