A Rolle Estate rick and tileyard was situated to the east of Piscombe Farm.
Exeter Archaeology, 2003-2004, East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Archaeological Survey, Site No. 2092 (Archive - Survey). SDV351568.
Field called Brick Plot on Tithe Map/Tithe Apportionment (Tithe Apportionment No. 901). Suggests brick making site or perhaps (less likely) ruins of brick building. The Ordnance Survey 1890 map shows 'Brick and Tile Yard' nearby, to west of present Hawkern at SY 0882 8538 suggesting brickmaking industry.
