1 and 2 Middle Street, East Budleigh. Brick elevations, slate roof. Attractive buildings, largely retaining original form and features, unaltered, with fine detailing. Excellent examples of the vernacular architecture of the buildings built during the time of the Hon Mark Rolle, an important local figure, well known benefactor and philanthropist, Details are available in the Mark Rolle His Architectural Legacy in the Lower Otter Valley' (Alan Ford 2001). Reason for Local Listing is age, aesthetic value, archival interest and historical association.

Pair of two storey semi-detached cottages (1874 and 1875). Brick elevations with a slate roof. Attractive buildings, largely retaining original form and features, unaltered, with fine detailing. Excellent examples of the vernacular architecture of the buildings erected during the time of the Hon Mark Rolle, an important local figure, well known benefactor and philanthropist, and used by the Rolle estates. Details are available in the Otter Valley Association's publication 'Mark Rolle His Architectural Legacy in the Lower Otter Valley' (Alan Ford 2001).
