Full description
English Heritage, 2013, Intertidal and Coastal Peat Database: Devon, Record ID 462 (Website). SDV350876.
Record ID 462. Year; 1960. Deposit location; SX 894 596. Beneath 2 ft [0.61 m] of beach shingle, 1ft 6 inches [0.46 m] of sedge peat overlies at least 3 ft [0.91 m] of pebbly sand which contains large amounts of plant debris. Roman artefacts found below the peat by Pidgeon (1885). Pollen Zone VIII. Depth of deposit 0ft OD = 2-3 cm below top of peat bed (pollen sample). Peat A. No dating available.
