A parchmark ditch of uncertain date and function is visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2002, to the northeast of Forward Green. The parchmark is broadly L-shaped in plan and north to south and east to west aligned, with angular corner to the northeast. The nature and origin of the parchmark is unclear, although may represent the remains of a medieval to post-medieval field boundary ditch which passed out of use by the time of the parish tithe map, or be of potential prehistoric date. It is also possible the parchmark is the result of modern agricultural practice or of natural origin. The parchmark was not visible on other aerial photographs viewed as part of this survey.
