Description: Duvale Kiln Cottage is an isolated dwelling along a track, adjacent to Duvale Quarry to the south of Bampton. The track is a section of Western Way which is an ancient route and is also part of the Exe Valley Way, a regional long distance walking route. The name Duvale first appeared in print in 1086, with varying spelling, which evolved over time and Balhill was within the manor of Duvale.
