Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2014-2015, East and Mid Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV356883.

An earthwork bank of uncertain date and function is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the east of Little Henbeer Wood. The linear earthwork bank is northeast to southwest aligned and appears to abut a historic and extant field boundary at its southwest extent. It may form part of a former field boundary which passed out of use by the time of the parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48, although does not generally respect the historic field patterns. The earthwork does not appear to be geological in origin as it does not respect the general topographic landscape. The earthwork bank remains visible on infra-red digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2006 and from Lidar data captured between 2005-2012.
