Orchard tree planting banks of probable post medieval to 19th century date were visible as earthwork banks adjacent to Newcourt Cottages on the western edge of Langford, on aerial photographs of 1946 and 1967. The banks correspond with an area of orchard depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25inch map. All tree planting had been removed by 1946 and circa 0.12ha/1800 square metres of banks survived. The plot of land had therefore ceased to be used as an orchard between the 1880s and 1940s. The earthwork banks were not visible on more recent image and had probably been levelled.
