A quarry of probable 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, at Mutterton. The semi-circular shaped quarry pit measures approximately 26m in length by 25m in width and abuts a road along its western edge. The quarry appears to truncate, and so post-date a possible building platform recorded to the immediate east. It remains partly visible, although largely levelled, as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from Lidar data captured between 2005-2010.
