The site of the quarry is first symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s.

The quarry is visible as an earthwork pit.

A quarry of probable post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from Lidar data captured between 2005 and 2010, within Aller Wood. The irregular shaped quarry pit is first symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. It measures approximately 38m in length by 18m in width and is situated in an area characterised by similar such features. The former quarry pit is completely obscured by dense tree cover of Aller Wood and was not visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey.
