The quarry is partly symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s.

A quarry of probable post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the south of Last Bridge. The irregular shaped quarry pit is first symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s abutting an historic and extant field boundary along its northern edge. It measures approximately 41m in length by 20m in width and is situated in an area characterised by similar such features. The earthwork pit remains clearly visible on digital images derived from Lidar data captured during 2005.
