Two quarry pits of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as earthwork pits on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the northwest of Padbrook Hill Barns. The sub-oval shaped pits are located on the southern side of an historic and extant field boundary and lie in-between two other quarries depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. The eastern of the two pits measure approximately 23m in length by 16m in width, whilst that to the west measures approximately 33m in length by 15m in width. The earthwork pits remain faintly visible on digital images derived from Lidar data captured in 2005, although appear to have been largely levelled following the development of the site into Padbrook Park Golf Centre.
