A quarry of probable post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Colebrook. The sub-oval shaped quarry pit, which measures approximately 26m in length by 16m in width, is symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s and is located within an area characterised by similar such features. The former quarry remains visible as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from Lidar data captured in 2005.
