An n-shaped earthwork pit is visible.

A large, irregularly shaped earthwork pit centred on circa ST03530031 might be evidence of a former quarry to the north and east of Three Elms Cross. The earthwork pit, which is roughly ‘n’ shaped and approximately 45 metres long, is most clearly visible on digital images derived from lidar data acquired in 2005 and 2010. The pit does not appear to be newly excavated and therefore probably predated the orchard that was located in this area from at least the mid-19th century.
