Summary

A former field boundary of post-medieval or possibly medieval origin was visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s as a low earthwork bank. A former field boundary of post-medieval or possibly medieval origin was visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s as a low earthwork bank. The relict earthwork was a continuation of a field boundary to the east, truncated when the road from Heathen Hill Farm to Rectory (now The Manor) was rerouted, at some point in the later 19th century. The earthwork bank could not be seen on more recent aerial photographs and has probably been levelled but the route of the boundary was visible on digital images derived from lidar captured in 2005 and 2010 as a broad and shallow ditch.
