A cropmark of a possible levelled earthwork mound of uncertain date, or a possible agricultural or geological feature is visible on aerial photographs of 1967, to the west of Culm Leigh. The oval shaped feature measures approximately 20m in length by 15.5m and is situated on gentle northwest facing slope. The cropmark was well-defined and fairly regular along its northern edge, although with more diffuse edges to the south. The nature of the cropmark is largely unclear, although given its clarity and form may possibly represent the remains of a former levelled earthwork. It is equally likely, however, to be of agricultural or geological origin and the cropmark was not visible on other aerial photographs or digital images made available to the survey. The cropmark was recorded as a precaution in the event that archaeological remains are recorded within the vicinity.
