Near the Green in the centre of the hamlet are the remains of the manor pound, which was used to pen stray animals until the owner reclaimed them after paying his fine to the lord of the manor. The pound was built for the Reverend Edward Bray in 1842, using stone from Smith Hill and sand from Sandy Ford. The last standing part was demolished in 1970 as it had become dangerous, but some of the base is still visible. A bill for a repair dated 1886 listed, as well stating the pound was listed in 1952 as an ancient monument.
