Site visit 4th November 1992. Overgrown with bracken and brambles. There is a silage storage area immediately adjacent to the barrow.

Gibbons, 1993, Untitled Source, AI MPP/134677 (Un-published). SDV343240.

One of two barrows aligned north-west south-east and situated to the north-west of the saddle of a ridge on the edge of an area of heathland. This is a bowl barrow 9 metres in diameter and 0.5 metres high. It has an uneven profile and the edge of the mound is difficult to determine due to plant growth and the presence of a bank and fence enclosing a silage area that has been constructed closely around its west side. The western half of the mound appears to have had soil dumped on it during the construction of the silage area. There is no evidence of a ditch. The distance between this barrow and the adjacent barrow is 1 metre.

Department of National Heritage, 1995, Two Bowl Barrows to the North-West of Roncombe Gate Farm (Schedule Document). SDV343242.

[One of] two bowl barrows to the north-west of Roncombe Gate Farm, forming part of a dispersed barrow group on Farway Hill. Aligned north-west south-east and situated to the north-west of the saddle of a ridge. [That] to the north-west is a bowl barrow about 9 metres in diameter and 0.5 metres in height with an uneven profile. Neither barrow has evidence of a ditch. Although partially disturbed by excavation and road construction, a significant proportion of the buried features of these barrows remains intact, including the old land surface which will contain evidence of the past environment. These barrow form an integral part of the wider group.
