A possible former field boundary of potential medieval date is visible as an earthwork ditch on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, with a possible cropmark bank visible on aerial photographs of 1967, to the east of Sutton Barton. The earthwork is slightly curvilinear in shape, is northwest to southeast aligned and with possible evidence of a flanking cropmark bank along its northern side. The possible former boundary generally respects the historic field patterns of medieval enclosures based on medieval strip fields, although appears to have passed out of use by the time of the parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48. The earthwork ditch remains visible on digital images derived from Lidar data captured in 2005 and from aerial photographs taken in 2010.
