Parallel linear earthwork banks, approximately 4 metres wide, are visible in the field immediately north of Hackpen Barton on aerial photographs between 1947 and 2010. Their alignment is roughly cross-contour and they are interpreted as banks for fruit tree planting, which are likely to be post-medieval or 19th century in date. This and other fields in the area were depicted as orchards on historic maps and the original extent of the orchard banks was probably greater; the field centred on ST0970311932 for example probably also contained orchard banks too indistinct to map as part of this project as the ground surface was obscured by trees on aerial photographs taken in 1947, and the earthworks are likely to have been levelled since. However earthworks appear to have survived in the field north of the farm in 2010.
