Robinson, R., 1982, List of Field Monument Warden Visits 1982 (Un-published). SDV342809.
Field monument warden visit on 07/07/1982.
Ordnance Survey, 1982 - 1983, SY19SE3 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV342956.
Site visit on 02/02/1982. Abutting, and almost spilling into the ditch of 'B' is a flattish flint and earth mound, 9 metres from east to west, and 7 metres from north to south. The maximum height is 0.5 metres. A little grass covering, but burrowed by rabbits, suggesting that it is not fully compacted and could be a spoil heap. Doubtful barrow. Other details: Plan, site C.
Grinsell, L. V., 1983, The Barrows of South and East Devon, 35 (Article in Serial). SDV337013.
Shown on Ordnance Survey 25 inch map of 1957 as an elongated mound, possibly only a spoil heap. Other details: 37b.
Simpson, S. J. + Noble, S., 1993, Archaeological Survey and Management Study of Areas on Gittisham Hill, Farway Hill, and Broad Down, East Devon, 139 (Report - Survey). SDV123162.
Site visit on 04/11/1992. Not visible from public footpath.
Manning, P. T., 2002, Barrows on Ball Hill (Correspondence). SDV342958.
A survey was undertaken by Exeter Archaeology after ploughing close to the barrow group in July 2002. No mound was identified at this location, although a shallow depression circa 9 metres across, with possible spoil banks, was identified at SY17549457. It is not known if this represents this possible barrow, the site of 20258, or neither. The ground in this area is much disturbed by cattle.
Vulliamy, C., 2002, Damage Report (Report - non-specific). SDV342957.
In January 2002 the adjacent barrow was damaged by ploughing within the area of the filled ditch and between the two barrows. The circle ploughed around the central barrow was rolled flat before more internal damage was caused.
Exeter Archaeology, 2003, East Devon Heathlands Archaeological Survey, 139 (Report - Survey). SDV101648.
Mound not located during field survey. The only feature visible in area is shallow sub-square depression with irregular base. Overall diameter circa 9 metres.
Exeter Archaeology, 2003, East Devon Heathlands Archaeological Survey, 19 and 24, Part 1; 139, Part 2: Gazetteer, Site No. 369 (Report - Survey). SDV101648.
SMR describes flint and earth mound 9 metres east/west by 7 metres north/south by maximum 0.5 metre high (1982). Mound not located during field survey. The only feature visible in area (at grid reference SY 17546 94573) is shallow sub-square depression with irregular base. Overall diameter circa 9 metres. It is not certain if this feature is related to site 375.

SMR record barrow 9 metres by 7 metres by 0.5 metre high (1982). Mound not located on ground in 2002. Shallow depression circa 9 metres diameter at grid reference SY 1754 9457. Uncertain if related to barrow site. Scheduled Monument.

A sloping earthwork mound is visible.
Sims, R., Knight, S. & Houghton, E., 2020-2021, East Devon AONB Lidar Assessment and Desk based Assessment (Interpretation). SDV363914.
An approximately oval shaped sloping earthwork mound circa 10m by 8m is visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. Its appearance is unlike surrounding barrows and consistent with a spoil heap probably associated with the excavation of the barrow to the south (MDV20258).
