Orchard banks of probable 19th century date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards, at the former dwelling of Lower Road, to the southwest of Holwell Farm. The site of the orchard, which likely post-dates the parish tithe map which is listed as arable land on the tithe apportionment, is first symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. Aerial photographs of 1947 show that the orchard trees have been largely grubbed out, leaving a series of partial earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. The surviving northwest to southeast aligned banks occupy an area of approximately 0.25 hectares of west facing slope, within a single rectilinear shaped plot on the south side of the now demolished dwelling of Lower Road. The orchard banks remain visible as a series of earthwork banks on digital images derived from Lidar data captured between 2005 to 2012.
