It is roughly parallel to a similar earthwork 24 metres to the north which is depicted as a boundary on the historic mapping. No field boundary is depicted in this location on the historic mapping, and it is likely to be a field boundary bank of medieval origin, which passed out of use prior to the mid-19th century. It is not clearly visible on the available aerial photographs suggesting that it survives as a fairly slight earthwork.
