A possible water meadow system of probable 19th century date is visible as a series of earthwork ditches on aerial photographs of 1946, to the northwest of Roliphant’s Farm. The system occupies an area of approximately 2.41 hectares of gentle south facing slope and is visible as a series of northwest to southeast aligned ditches, from which emanate a series of shorter ditches. The water meadow system, which is partly depicted on historic mapping, appears to tap and divert the flow of water from a stream located at approximately SS988154, to the northeast. Evidence of additional and more extensive water meadow systems are visible to the east and southwest. The water meadow is partly visible as an earthwork ditch on aerial photographs of 1966, although has possibly since been completely levelled.
