Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1984 onwards, at Chettiscombe. The site of the orchard is listed as Back Orchard on the Tiverton parish tithe apportionment of approximately 1838-48 and remains largely in use as an orchard on aerial photographs up until 1966. By 1984, the orchard trees have been completely cleared, leaving partial evidence of the earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. These banks, which are more clearly visible on Lidar data of between 2005 and 2012, are northeast to southwest aligned and occupy an area of approximately 0. 01 hectares of gentle southeast facing slope, within a single irregular shaped plot depicted on the parish tithe map.
