Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

Environment Agency, 2005-2012, LiDAR DTM data JPEG image (1m resolution), LIDAR SS9514 Environment Agency JPEG DTM 19-DEC-2005 - 20-FEB-2012 (Cartographic). SDV357033.

The possible field boundaries are visible as a series of earthwork ditches and bank.

Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2014-2015, East and Mid Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV356883.

Earthworks of potential medieval date are visible as a series of earthwork ditches and bank on digital images derived from Lidar data captured between 2005 and 2012, within Knightshayes Park. The north to south and east to west aligned former field boundaries appear to respect the surrounding historic field patterns depicted on the parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48, although appear to have been deliberatively removed by this time during landscaping works associated with the creation of Knightshayes Park. The earthworks were not clearly visible on other aerial photographs or digital images made available to the survey.
