Evidence for one or more possible field systems of probable late prehistoric to Roman date was visible on aerial photographs as dispersed groups of linear cropmarks on high ground to the south west of Hayne House, overlooking the Culm valley to the south-east.
The possible field systems might have been associated with some of the cropmark enclosures also visible as cropmarks in this area. The cropmark field pattern cannot readily be classified as coaxial as it is possible more than a single planned system is visible, but a north-east to south-west alignment is dominant.
