A large irregular pit, circa 30 by 40 metres in maximum visible extent, is visible on aerial photographs from 1947 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2010. A small scrubby area is depicted in the southern part of this location on the late 19th century maps, and several marl pits are marked in the wider area on the late-19th century maps, so the earthwork is interpreted as a possible marl pit of post-medieval or early modern date. Its edges are less well-defined than similar earthworks nearby which correspond to the marl pits depicted on the historic mapping, suggesting that this was an extractive pit that became disused at an earlier date. Earthworks are likely to survive.
