Nine pits are visible.

Nine or more possible quarries of probable post-medieval to modern date were visible as large earthworks pits on the north-west facing slopes of Park Wood in Killerton Park. The pits are varying and irregularly shaped and measure between 10 to 90 metres across. The earthworks are obscured from view by dense woodland planting but are visible on images derived from lidar. Field investigation is recommended to confirm the existence and form of the pits. Smaller pits are visible to the north-east on the north facing slopes west of Ellerhayes Bridge.
