Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1855-1895, First Edition 1:500 Town Map (Cartographic). SDV338879.
Smithy marked, on the west side at the lower end of Charlotte Street.

Smithy shown on 1889 Ordnance Survey map. A possible smithing hearth bottom was also found during evaluation excavations and a watching brief carried out in 2002 in association with works for the construction of new buildings at Hayward School.
