Possible former orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of soilmarks on aerial photographs of 1989, to the southwest of Brithem Bottom. The northwest to southeast aligned linear soilmarks occupy an area of approximately 0.26 hectares of gentle southeast facing slope, adjacent to an orchard depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey Map of between the 1880’s-90’s. The former orchard banks were not clearly visible on other aerial photographs viewed as part of this survey and had evidently been largely or completely levelled prior to aerial photographs of 1947.
