A probable former extraction pit of post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from Lidar data captured between 2005 and 2010, at Braddon’s Farmhouse. The oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 92m in length by 62m in width and occupies a single plot of west facing slope on the eastern side of the farmhouse. The former extraction pit appears to be overlain and so pre-dates a series of linear orchard banks also visible on Lidar data and which is also listed as an orchard on the parish tithe apportionment of approximately 1838-48. The date of the extraction pit then likely passed out of use by this time.
