Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2002 onwards, at Cott Farm. The site of the orchard is first symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, although by 1950, aerial photographs show that the orchard trees have been completely cleared, although evidence of the orchard banks was not clearly visible. The earthworks, first visible on aerial photographs of 2002, comprise a series of short northeast to southwest aligned banks which occupy an area of approximately 0.24 hectares of fairly level land, within a single rectilinear shaped plot depicted on historical mapping. They are also visible on Lidar images captured between 2005 and 2010.
