Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The former field boundaries are not depicted on the Halberton parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48.

The former field boundaries are visible as earthwork ditches.

Former field boundaries of potential medieval date are visible as earthwork ditches on digital images derived from Lidar data captured between 2005 and 2010, at Halberton. The two linear north to south aligned earthworks closely respect the historic field patterns depicted on the parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48 and may form part of a series of medieval strip field boundaries which passed out of use by this time. The earthwork ditches were not clearly visible on aerial photographs made available to the survey.
