Earthwork banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the north of Mountstephen Farm. The earthwork banks are northwest to southeast and northeast to southwest aligned and occupy an area of approximately 0.38 hectares of fairly level land. The presence of numerous plantations located in close proximity to the south and symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map may suggest the earthworks represent former plantation banks, the site of which being cleared by the time of the parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48. It is also equally likely, however, the earthworks represent an area of improvement ridge and furrow to help facilitate agricultural improvement and drainage. The earthworks are visible on aerial photographs up until 1966, although are not visible after this date and may have been completely levelled.
