Originally dunscombe farmhouse was a good 16c or early 17c manor house. The s end of the existing house is of this date. On the e side are the ruined walls of a projecting wing with the remains of a fireplace. The house is a 2 storey building of beet stone masonry and rubble with a thatched roof. There are stone mullioned windows with drip moulds at the s end and an external chimney. What appears to be a 12c column or pillar and the remains of a capital are embedded in the e rubble wall of the shop at the caravan site, which was formerly a barn of the farm (nmr citing doe).
